Apple recently released several updates to its product lines; notably, new MacBooks, Mac Mini, the new Magic Mouse, and iMac updates including a new 27″ model. Generally, this would be reason to rejoice and run straight to your nearest Apple Store to check out the new products, but if the 27″ iMac is on your shopping list, you may want to hold off for a while.
Many users online are reporting multiple issues with the new model; including instances of the hard-drive randomly spinning down, corrupted Snow Leopard installations, bad permission settings, and most commonly, Adobe Flash performance problems.
As is noticeable in the video above [thanks Macrumors.com], playing Flash video content results in spiked CPU usage, which also causes stuttering in audio/video playback. The user who posted the above video notes that toggling AirPort (the Mac’s wireless networking protocol) off and back on will temporarily cure the issue until Apple releases an official update.
On the bright side, pending release of an update to fix the aforementioned issues, this new iMac will open up many doors for end-users and professionals alike. The increased screen size, resolution, and processing power (models are available featuring Intel Core i7 Quad-Core processors) will make these the new dream machine for developers and gamers in particular.
So how about that new Magic Mouse?
