iPhone OS 3.1.2 Released!

iPhone OS 3.1.2 Released!

Fellow iPhone owners, rejoice!  Apple has released a much-needed OS update for the iPhone (and iPod Touch.)

Version 3.1.2, as reported by The iPhone Blog and many other popular Apple/iPod support sites, fixes some of the critical problems associated with last month’s 3.1 OS update, including:

  • “coma mode”; iPhone would lock up and be unable to wake from sleep/standby mode.
  • issues which would cause cellular network connection to fail until iPhone restarted (in my case, I would not be able to make/receive phone calls or SMS messages)
  • occasional crashes during video streaming.

Note that if your iPhone is Jailbroken, you must not apply this update, at least not yet, as there is no known method of Jailbreaking the 3.1.x series yet.

Load up iTunes, connect your iPhone, and grab the update now!  For most users it will weigh in around the 240Mb mark, so be ready for a lengthy download period.
